Our product roadmap is designed to align NovoPolymers with market opportunities. Whether solar cells are produced using crystalline silicon, amorphous silicon or other solar technologies, NovoPolymers can help reduce the cost per watt through the use of its cost efficient components.
NovoPolymers is developing at first a comprehensive line of thermoplastic based encapsulant sheets for the conventional c-Si cell based PV module manufacturers. The technology is based on thermally curable Ethylene Vinylacetate (EVA) sheets. Next to that also a novel unconventional cured EVA system is under development. In addition the developments also target recyclable non cure hybrid (silicon-based) and unconventional hydrocarbon thermoplastic elastomer materials for both classic and thin film technology.

Encapsulant sheets
NovoPolymers Fast Cure EVA Encapsulant
* NovoVellum CFC3 (formulation ready – in qualification)
* NovoVellum UFC4 (formulation ready – in qualification)
Both films are suitable for use with standard laminators and offer excellent bond properties to conventional substrates, while offering excellent transparency.
NovoPolymers Non Cure Thermoplastic Elastomers Encapsulant
* NovoVellum SW1 (under development)
This film is deemed suitable for use with standard laminators and offer bond properties almost as good as cured EVA to the conventional substrates, while offering excellent transparency, durability and last but not least, recyleability and improved productivity. Further, due to absence of additives and plasticize agents we also believe this solution is more suitable (less contaminating) for the more sensitive thin film solar cell technology.
NovoPolymers Unconventional Cure Encapsulant
This EVA based film is under development and is approaching the lamination process of modules from a different angle, consuming less time and energy during the cure cycle offering hence higher productivity for the module maker and saving some energy at the same time.
